It has been two weeks and I can finally download and post pictures from the triathlon. It was such a blast! We were super nervous but once I got in the water it was just push push push to the end. The ride was way steeper than I had visioned and I was worried, but I surprised myself and actually passed a few people on the uphill. The run was just fun. I almost didn't want it to end. I was a little emotional at the finish because I have worked so hard for this. 9 months of training. I think this is the best shape I have been in for most of my adult life. I better get started again. I did the swim in 28 min, the ride in 1 hour and the run in 32 min. My total time including transitions (which were longer and more difficult than I thought) was 2 hours 10 min. My goal was under 2 1/2 hours. I am so proud of myself. Besides a little dehydration headache the rest of the day I felt pretty good. Here a few pics:
Everyone had to know I was 35. I really appreciated that. The best part was when I passed a 25 year old. I wanted to point to my age.
Can you see the nerves? We were so nervous, but ready to get started.
Can you find us? It was kinda like where's Waldo.
Running up the boat ramp. Actually I walked.
This was at the end of the ride. Boy was I ready to be on my feet.
I love that Gracie is waving to me.
We rock!!
Funny Aaron, thought this ambulance was coming to get me.

Jill, that is so freakin' awesome! Look at your silhouette walking up the boat ramp. Yowza! I'm totally inspired.
In the 3rd to last pic you look great, not like you exercised hard-core for 2 hours at all!
What did you do for nine months to train??

Congrats! It is my goal to do one also...but, it may be next summer. You rock!!
I had to create a new password because I couldn't remember mine. It has been that long. Well, I have to say you look mighty fine, in those pictures. We miss you so much. I have been trying to get a hold of you, so that's why I am checking your blog in the middle of the night. You are in our thoughts and prayers and I know what you are going through isn't fun, but enjoy any chance you can make a memory with someone, cause that's what keeps us going. Remember all the good times!!!! Miss you and maybe we will swing by in a couple of weeks. I will keep trying to call ya or text ya, love ya Lani
p.s. The bunny got ran over. But the kids don't know yet.
You rock Jill - you are such an inspiration to all of us! Trying to keep up with you these last few months is definitely helping me get into some of the best shape of my adult life!! My workouts are seriously lacking now -I need you to train for another one!
YOU ARE MY HERO!! One day maybe I'll be able to jog more then 2 or 3 minutes!!
I know the feeling about the crying at the end of the race. I felt the same way when I ran my first race and looked to see my time was lots better than I had aimed for.
