A whole lotta Johnson

It has been a tradition for as long as I have been a part of the Johnson family to all go out to the cabin in Vernal, Ut. There are a lot of us so we can't all stay at the cabin so we have to come up with other places to stay. Some stay in tents, or just sleep on the deck, some are really smart and get a Hotel room in town. That is usually our solution, but thanks to a crappy Realtor my parents still have a house in Vernal. We stayed there, and it was so nice. It was extra nice to see Aaron and spend time with him.We did all the usual events,

  • Paddle boats on the pond
  • Made s'mores (my favorite event)
  • Caught tadpoles and snakes
  • Ate yummy ribs
  • Played in the sand
  • Dug in "the holes"
  • Water fight, water fight, water fight.
  • Visited with family
  • Adult slip and slide
  • Plenty of bug spray and sunblock
  • Fun family program, skits, guitars and singing, and awards, what else can you ask for?
  • Told stories of alleged scary sightings at the cabin
  • Made an unplanned visit to the ER for stitches!
Have you ever heard of death by ipod? We almost invented it. Carter was wrestling with cousins on the deck when one grabbed a pillow as a weapon. Who knew there was a big fat ipod inside? Of course he swung as hard as he could a pillow won't hurt. It was actually really funny to tell the Dr. that he got hit with a pillow. One look at the cut and I knew it was an ER visit. I had a s'more in hand, and we were off to the hospital. The nurses warned us that it was a long wait because they were backed up. Is an hour a long wait? We were quite pleased with the wait. Small towns are good for some things.

Thank you Johnson's! We appreciate all the planning. It was certainly nice to get away. The drive home brought a lot of thinking. I snapped back to reality and so did Aaron. Cancer and loneliness. Nothing we can do about either one. Today my Mom has an appointment with the Oncologist. I am nervous about what he will have to say. Aaron on the other hand will go back to work, and the lonely life of a bachelor. The part that keeps us both going is knowing that we are doing the right thing. We will never regret spending too much time with my Mom. For those of you in Vegas please call him. He will kill me for it, but he needs it.

Maybe Troy can call Aaron. You know them, they could talk for hours!

My two favorite things were a picture of the sandy bum and that you included the fact that you had a smores with you on the way to the ER. You needed that Johnson Family get-together. It looked like a lot of fun.
We've been praying for you guys and Aunt Paula. You are very fortunate to be able to spend time with her right now. Will you say hello for me?

Cousin Rachel Johnson speaking...(although I feel more like a second cousin to you seeing as I'm closer in age to your kids then you, anyways)

I have a new blog in which you can read all about how wonderful I am: http://disillusionrachelanna.blogspot.com/

(You will not be able to access Organized Chaos anymore, but don't feel too bad about yourself just yet...)

Sometimes vacations just aren't complete without a trip to the local ER. Looks like you guys had a nice getaway. And that's the worst part of going somewhere - the day you head home and back to reality....
I would call Aaron and invite him over for dinner, but I'm sure he wouldn't eat anything I fix :)

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I just found out. Your kids are welcome at our house any time. I am happy to come get them for a day if you want a break.
