I am not sure, but I think our ward is too big.
Yesterday it was fast and testimony meeting. We had 2 baby Blessings, and a Convert Confirmation. Really nice. We also had a lot of Ward business, including Carter being presented to be ordained a Deacon. After Sacrament was passed to every chair in every overflow, and there were so many of us out in the foyer the Deacon ran out of water and had to get another tray, we had 20 minutes for testimonies. That is when the crazy started. Tons of people, mostly kids rushed up to the stand, kinda like the Fred Meyer sock sale at 5:00am the day after Thanksgiving. I think there were more people sitting in the choir seats than we have sing in choir. The crazy thing is that people kept coming. We had like 5 minutes left, and people were still walking up to find their place on the stand. I think we only had 3 adults and a few YM/YW share their testimonies every other one was a child. Now don't get me wrong, I love the sweet testimony of a child. They are the sweetest. How do you possibly give everyone the chance to bare Testimony, when there isn't enough time for a ward our size? I just wonder if maybe it is time to split our ward? Maybe not. Maybe we ought to wait another year. HA!! I am really tired of it. Maybe I will become inactive. I don't think I would even be missed. What in the world are we supposed to learn from this?*Andrew, please note the spelling of MINUTE. Thanks for the spelling lesson.

Darn, I missed out on all that excitement - I was home not feeling well. Maybe there was lots of extra people because of the baby blessings, but we're still pretty big. Someone told me today there was quite a few new membership records read in yesterday too. It's crazy!!
When we lived in Herriman there were many times that there wasn't even time to bare testimonies. I remember one time we had 7 baby blessings and then they passed the sacrament. By the time they were finished the bishop bore his testimony and then closed the meeting.
Hey, it could be worse. You know the crazies in our ward....
31 new ward member records were read in. And I would complain about too many kids bearing their testimonies, but then I didn't get up to represent the adults, so I guess it is what it is... I enjoyed your observations, though :) I keep telling you, if it's going to look like stake conference, put the big screen down so people in the back can see & hear; use ushers; carpet runners in the culteral hall.
Jill I thought you were inactive already. I hardly see you in sacrament any more but that could be that we are in the back of the cultural hall with all the other people unlucky enough to get a soft seat!My butt can't take it anymore!
Oh Jill you would be missed but I agree a smaller ward would be very very very nice.
