Well, I survived. My third Triathlon is over. I am taking some time off from the training. I am so happy.
We got to the reservoir Saturday morning and the wind was blowing hard. The lake was white capping. When they announced they were cancelling the swim, I have to admit I wasn't sad. Until they announced that the event would be a run, bike, run. The Olympic athletes had done the same thing. They broke their run in half and did half before the ride and the other half after the ride. So, I thought 1 1/2 mile before the ride and 1 1/2 after the ride. Cake. Not to be. They had us run a 5k (3.2 miles), bike the normal 12 miles, and run another 5k. Are you kidding me? I would rather just swim in the white caps, or bike twice, anything but run extra. To make things worse, the run was a trail run. In St George orange sand.
We all lined up on the boat ramp and started the first run. It was ok. Not to bad. I was excited about my time. 32 min. Then it was the ride. I have been riding tons, so I was really excited to see how fast I could do it. I rode hard and fast. 12 min faster than the last time I rode there. I was so excited. 48 min. Then I had to run again. Not as fast, but still 34 min. My total time including transitions was 2:04. I am happy with that. I really wanted to be under 2 hours, but I think if we would have swam I could have done it.
I hurt now. Legs, back, feet but mostly bunion. I don't know if my old body can handle it. I did love passing those young 20 somethings and letting them read the 36 on my calf. Hee Hee.

I cant believe you have done 3 of these! I think you are crazy! Good job! We missed you guys on Sunday! Hope you had a happy Mothers Day!
Was this at Sand Hollow. I had a friend down there or the weekend doing a tri. She is in training for an iron man in June.
Good for you on the time. That rocks. I wish I had the drive to run just one mile. :0
You are so awesome. Like, so awesome. Are you sure we come from the same genes? Cause I couldn't have run 2 5K's in 2:04.
Awesome.
Love you!
You are so cool! What a great example you are giving your girls of what great things you can do even if you are a mom :) (and thanks for being that example for my kiddos too cuz their mom is no way ever doing that!)
Good job! That is a good ending to the tributes for your mom for mothers day. She couldn't be more proud!
You're awesome! I think we should do a ride sometime. Notice I said ride, I don't run or swim.
I can't believe the swim got cancelled again like it did last year to Janette. Once again, you are my hero - no way I'd be able to do that in 2 hours. You're an inspiration :)
Ii'm tired just reading the blog. Way to go woman!!!
You are a freaking machine! You did awesome, congrats!
