When I was in High School I was a cheerleader. I know big surprise, right? Every summer we went to a camp. My Jr. year we got to go to San Diego. We needed 2 Chaperone's. Of course my Mom volunteered. I am sure she didn't want to go, but the other Mom going was a friend of hers from High school. I think they volunteered at the last minute because no other mom would. It was a long trip down there. We were on a bus, 30 girls and 4 adults. We had to let the bus driver sleep in Las Vegas, so we went to Wet and Wild all day. We all got back on the bus tired and sun burned and got on the freeway headed toward San Diego. One girl all of a sudden yells, "Oh my gosh that guy is naked!" So, being 16 we all wanted to see. All 30 girls and the adults, my Mom, rush to the same side of the bus. Sure enough, there was a guy in his car driving along side of us with no pants on. Something I had never seen before. He teased us a little by making sure the whole bus got to see. He would drive up one side and down the other. It got old after a while and he left. My Mom acted all disgusted, but she had a trick up her sleeve.
One night after returning to our rooms after a long day at camp, there were post cards stuck to each of our doors. They were of a man with a trench coat flashing us. It simply said love your favorite flasher. Nobody could imagine who would do that. Guess who? That's right, my Mother. She wasn't all innocent!
We had so much fun on that trip. I was always proud to be her daughter. Never embarrassed that she would go on trips like that with me. The trip was all about sun and beach, two things she hates the worst. She was such a good sport. That was a real sacrifice for her to go because Troy got his mission call while we were gone. He called her the morning it came and opened it over the phone. I have always thought about if I could do that. One boy, one mission call, and not being able to see his face when he opened it. She was the best!!

I like your mom stories. Can't wait for tomorrow.
I love the stories too. Keep em coming. A little diversion for my day.
Your mom was always fun. Even when she was mad. She rocked.
You know, I didn't realize at the time what she was missing by going on that trip with you. She hates the sun and the heat! But she knew you would have these great memories forever, and Troy calling her and telling her his call was to Idaho is a memory he'll never forget, either!
She's the best.
That is a great story!!
Loving these stories too - what a great tribute to your mom!
Only in Vegas would you see a guy driving around without pants on - and little did you know back then you would someday live here and raise your family :)
I love hearing the stories about your mom. Hey are you guys going riding Thursday night let me know if you are I want to tag along.
That is so funny! I always loved her disgusted face...even though deep down she just wanted you to think she was disgusted but she was laughing.
