I am so excited!!!! We are finally going to be in a ward where we don't have to fight for a soft seat on Sunday! Sacrament meeting is first. We meet at 11:00. We were both released from our callings!! Could it be any better? Yes, it could. There are a lot of people we are going to miss. A lot of friends that we love. The only nice thing about loosing so many friends to another ward is that they will all be in a smaller ward too. Our kids will still go to the same school and we only live a mile from each other. It just isn't ever the same.
The ward we are in now is newly formed but still named Iron Mountain. We are back together with a lot of the people that split off of our ward 2 years ago. So we know almost all of them. Our Bishop is a good man, and we can't wait to get to know him better.
Change is good! I have been anticipating this change for a long time. I have really felt in a rut for a few months with church. It has been a real challenge for me to go to such a huge ward where I wouldn't be missed if I didn't go. When I started attending my Mom's ward I thought they would split while I was gone. I was sadly mistaken when I returned home to a loud, packed, crazy ward. I love them all, but they just shouldn't be that big. This week will bring a lot of change for a lot of people. Change is Awesome!!!

Our ward split about a year ago, and it's the BEST! Although now, we each have 2 callings. There's no hiding anymore! You can't just skip church when you're the organist. :)
we're getting split at our stake conf in 2 weeks. i have a feeling we're going to be losing some good friends too!
It's very bittersweet, but hopefully we will all still see each other often :) I bet we will still be in the hard seats on Sunday though. I'm anxious to see who will be filling all the callings!
Wow I got all excited for you just about having Sacrament FIRST (the right way)! And it is nice to not have reserve a seat in advance so you can get a decent spot.
I agree that change is good, although it was very bittersweet. It will definetly be different. You will have to keep us Shadow Ridger's posted on all the Iron Mountain ward changes.
You've been in a rut......I've spent the last year in the NURSERY!!(No offense to all those who had children in my class.I have my own nursery at home.)I hope this split makes it possible for me to run around yelling "I'm released!" Time will tell.
At least we will see each other in the halls at church and through the kids school!:) When the ladies christmas party comes around it will have to include both wards now!
Okay, that title totally had me thinking something else. I was a little concerned.
But now I'm happy for you. Welcome to the world of Church with 7 pews, and most of them empty. What? It's not that small? Oh. Too bad. That's the best!
I have loved the huge ward and the huge love but after being in the ward only a year I am ready for the split. But that just gave me a chance to get to know you before we split. I will miss you partner but we will have to get the guys together and do something.
Small wards are definately more cozy... What callings were you guys released from?
It's about time, right? Who is the new bishop? Did they put you guys back with those they moved to Silver Stone in the last change?? What is the scoop?
It is about time! That ward is HUGE and I agree that it gets hard to participate in such a big ward let alone see the same person walking down the hall two SUndays in a row. YEAH!!
Congratulations!! Remember, the calling you know is sometimes better than the one waiting for you. Scary!! New wards mean new leadership.
We have a small ward, 107 families, the smallest ward in our stake and I LOVE IT!!
