Last night we colored our eggs, all 7 1/2 dozen. No matter how many eggs you buy, it is never enough. We did plain colors, camo, shimmering, stripes with rubber bands, crayon drawings, eggs with faces and the ever so popular half and half. It was eventful and no spills. Gracie tried her first boiled egg, and it came out as fast as it went in. She wasn't having any of that.
I went for a ride last night. Not odd, I know, except the new bruise I am sporting on my rear. I finally put my clip less pedals on a couple weeks ago. I have ridden with them 5 or 6 times, and felt like I was pretty used to them. We were riding yesterday and Davison's head was rubbing on the tire because he had fallen asleep in Janette's trailer. We stopped to fix it, and all my confidence in the new pedals was crushed. I tipped over onto the ground. It was like slow motion. I was thinking in my head, "twist out, twist out" but it wasn't registering to my foot. The worst part is that the corner of the curb caught on my butt. I jumped up fast because I was horrified, and felt pretty good until I sat down to eat dinner. I can't sit, lay on my back or that side. It hurts so bad. I am sore this morning in my shoulder, hip, elbow, knee, ankle and of course the ginormous bruise on my rear. I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Why, Oh Why can't a baby sleep when it is Spring Break. I was looking so forward to having a week of not getting kids up early for school. Gracie had different plans. She is not going to waste one second of daylight. I think between the time change and the time difference in Chicago she is all messed up. As soon as the sun is up, so is she. Yesterday she didn't even wait for the sun. It was 4:00 am. Today was 6:00. She should be sleeping in just in time to start school on Monday. Maybe it is all the teeth she is getting. She popped out the top two last week, and yesterday I found a MOLAR?!! Have you ever heard of such a thing? A 1 year old with a molar? She is amazing. Time for steak.

I dont feel bad for you! Now you know how I felt when you pushed me over on the motor cycle!!! You laughed at me for a month! I wish I would have seen you fall!
But I bet you didn't cry like Jill did! (Just kidding Jill, I would have cried too if I would have gotten kicked and then went flying over the handle bars!)
I only cried for a minute and that was when I saw blood!!!! And when she kicked me we were in the middle of a rock pit so I think that justifies the tears!!!!!!
Oh, I've soooo been there. At least it wasn't at a bike ride with 200 people watching as you scream and tip over! Oh, and Kelli was with me once when I almost hit a little boy in the middle of the Jordan Parkway Trail, and couldn't get unclipped. Both times I ended up with huge scrapes down both hands and wrists. Dumb clipless pedals.
Don't use my blog to trash me. You crashed all on your own. I only wished I pushed you. you cried like a baby. I was the only one there when you said,"don't tell anyone I cried".
Been there. Mine was mountain biking though. I scraped my forearm from my wrist to my elbow. Every muscle in your body feels it the next day.
Didn't Kinney get teeth early?
Um, this kind of talk doesn't make me wanna get on a bike. I think I'll stick with running. It's a shorter distance when you fall and it doesn't happen as often. Jill, be careful not to hurt yourself too badly before the triathalon. All that training. Ugh!
Yep, been there too. THe mountain bike is the worst. I was riding with Troy on the 24 Hours of Moab trail and fell on slickrock and sprained my thumb! I was too embarassed to tell anyone until we got done with the ride....
Don't worry, it gets easier.
I am so sorry about your bruise! Honestly though as I was picturing it, it looked pretty funny in my head. Good for you though!
And I can't believe that you dyed 71/2 dozen easter eggs! What do you do with all of them?
7 1/2 dozen hard-boiled eggs? You could make a huge batch of egg salad with that!
Wish I could have witnessed your fall - maybe next time. I know all too well about not being able to sit down :)
I feel your pain! I've fallen over twice getting used to my pedals. It is painful! Hope your're feeling better.
