Skate, Pneumonia, and Owner of a Grey Dodge

I got him back! I had to leave Vegas at 4:00 am to get there at 9:00 to pick him up. That is really early when it's summer, and nothing to get up early for (meaning I've been sleeping in!). I was so glad to see him, but he was just glad to get home. He felt crappy. Poor kid was sick the whole time. He had a great time anyway. Lots of skating. He met a couple boys from Arizona and talked a lot about them. He also talked about new words he learned. I knew that was coming, skateboarders without mom's listening probably isn't a good combination. One word that I dare write was Ho. Nice. He used it in reference to the gymnasts he met. They called him monkey ears. I think it's cute. His favorite part was all the stuff he won. They played a game where he rolled a dice and then had to land a certain trick. He won every time but one. He got a shirt, trucks, wheels and stickers. He loved to watch the demo's. They had pros come and skate. The kids got to watch, he loved that. He also loved the foam pits. I don't know if there were tricks into the pits or just playing, but he liked them. He also became friends with a family of raccoons that made a home under one of the skate parks. He spent every dime I put into his account, no surprise there. I am glad he had a fun time. He is already looking forward to next year, not sick.

After we got home, he just kept feeling worse. He started to run a fever. I tried to keep it down, but it just kept getting worse. Just before bed it started to break, I thought. When we got up yesterday morning, it was 104! I decided to take him to the ER. It was still 103.6. After waiting forever and watching people come and go just to get a shot of morphine we finally got to see the Dr. He had spots on his tonsils and they wanted to do a chest x-ray and breathing treatment. We were there so long that the Ibuprofen started to wear off and they had to give him more. Finally, they came and told us he had pneumonia and tonsillitis! No wonder he felt so crappy!

I ran to the Pharmacy to pick up his prescriptions. I was inside waiting for them to fill them and I hear "would the customer with the grey Dodge pickup please come to the front?" Oh crap. I was thinking I forgot to put it in park and it rolled into someone. No, that can't happen. What the heck do they want? Ma'am someone hit your truck in the parking lot. Of course. She totally smashed my bumper! I guess I should have been at church.

Now this morning as Aaron was leaving for work he informed me that we have a swarm of killer bees on one of our pots in the front yard. Awesome! At least I have the cabin this weekend to look forward to!

I had to laugh at the word "ho", I learned that word when I was Carter's age also. We had jsut moved to Las Vegas from Missouri and I heard another girls call someone that- I thought she meant "hoe"! I was so innocent! I remember going home and telling my mom how weird people are and that they call each other farm equipment.
That stinks he got so sick- all those boys with out their mom's there probably had lot's of germs to share too!:)
