Astro Camp

I am so happy to report that McKinley survived Astro Camp. We were afraid that she might accidentally get sent into space like on space camp, but she didn't. She had a lot of fun. Just ask her about it if you see her. Please. She won't stop talking about it. I love it. She was so nervous to go, but did very well.

Things she got to do

  • Launch rockets

  • play with light and lasers

  • Learn how the Northern lights work

  • Vine Walk (sounds like a tight rope from vine to vine)

  • Micro gravity pool

  • Night hikes

  • Look at Saturn through a big telescope

  • Blow up balloons, freeze then crush a penny in a solids, gases and liquids class

  • Spend money at the student store

  • Eat very good food!

  • Sleep in a room with 3 other girls!

She had a great time, and now she is ready for longer adventures. We really missed her while she was gone. It was weird to have family prayer and know that someone was missing. We are glad she is home safe and sound.

Good for her! She'll be a pro by the time Rough Camp comes around.

Wow, how old is she? Is she like 10? My ten year old would NEVER be away from home like that.

She is a brave soul. Sounds like a blast. Bring on EFY.

Oh, I wish Madison could do something like that. Did she take pictures? She'll have to tell Madison all about it.

Sounds like so much fun and I'm sure she learned so much that she will be talking about for a long time.
