Missing Home

Since it is Thankful Thursday, and I am really missing home, here is a list of the things I am thankful for because they make living far away a little better:

  • Blogs

  • emails

  • cell phones

  • Free long distance

  • Girl trips

  • Feeling like I can call for no reason

  • Looking forward to the Holidays

I swear the longer we live away from home the harder it is to be away. I would have thought it would get easier. This time if year is especially hard because I know all the leaves are changing and it is really Fall. Fall is my favorite time of the year, and here we just cool off a little, no leaves change or "fall" off the trees. So, missing home sucks but I am excited to come visit in a couple weeks.

Jill--just let your trees die. Then the leaves will fall off. That's how we roll in the Dixon home during fall. --Andrew

Oh brother--yes, that's how we roll because Andrew neglects the yard during football season!!

Come on Jill, you're only like 6 hours from your family- try being 18!!! I know- we were crazy to do this to ourselves! It is hard to be away, and i can totally sympathize. The one good thing is it makes you love and appreciate them all the more!

Being away from home helps me to appreciate home a lot more. But Fall here is Michigan is BEAUTIFUL! I love it!

I was wondering how it got as the years went by. Harder, huh? That's not good. I too am thankful for a blog. Seriously, I feel like it keeps me in your daily life somehow. Weird, I know. Even cousins and second cousins that have blogs seem like close friends now. I guess that's a blessing we should really be thankful for. We need to get mom a blog and teach her how to post pics for us. That would be awesome.

It really is pretty here right now. We were on our way to Wal-Mart, and Maggie saw a bright yellow tree. I'm sure you can imagine how excited she was about that! It's cool to see all the colors.
