Carter decided a while ago that wrestling was going to be "his thing". I on the other hand think piano should stay "his thing". With piano, nobody gets hurt and it produces something beautiful. Not really the things that a 13 year old is going for. I happily obliged to wrestling because Aaron was so excited about it, and said he would do it. Ha.
First tournament was ok. It was a takedown one so they never really had to pin or roll around a lot. Not a lot of worry that he would get hurt. Then because of sickness and a bout with ringworm (gross I know) he missed a couple tournaments. He had one a few weekends ago in Mesquite. This tournament was a National Tournament. So they offered a rookie class for anyone wrestling fewer than 2 years. Bingo! This eased my mind, until they didn't have enough kids to fill a rookie class. He had to wrestle a 4 time National Champ. He held his own pretty good. It was hard for him to loose but it helps him learn.
He had another tournament last weekend where he did a little better. He wrestled the same kid everytime because they were the only 2 in his weight class. He learned something every match. He took 2nd!
We had this last weekend free of tournaments! But it was short lived. He has another on Saturday. Pray nobody hurts him.

Im sure Carter is a great wrestler! He took me down with no problems!!! Im still mad at him for that!
Go Carter!!!!
Way to go!!!
I LOVE wrestling! Brian (my hubby) was a state champ wrestler, my brothers Craig & Sammy were wrestlers, and this year my oldest step-son (Austin) is wrestling. It's been lots of fun! I think Carter will really enjoy it! :)
I know how you feel. Wrestling is soooo hard to watch when it is your son! Tell him good luck this weekend. We are so proud of him!
Just tell him to do the TeePee move and he will win every time!
How cool!
How is he liking wearing those singlets?
