The other day Gracie and I were having lunch, she noticed that she had a little bit and I had more. She told me that it was because she was little and I was, well, big. But she was getting bigger in fact she said she was getting huge. Earlier in the day we were looking at a picture she wasn't in because she was "in my tummy". The two conversations sparked a little bit of curiosity about just how big you have to be to have a baby in your tummy. This is how the conversation went:
Gracie: I have a baby in my tummy.
Me: Really? I don't think so, you aren't big enough.
G: When will I be big enough?
M: When you are big like mommy.
G: Or aunt MiMi?
M: Yep.
G: I just wanna be a mommy. My whole life I just wanna be a mommy.
M: You will just have to wait until you are married and grown up.
G: I am getting bigger Mom.
M: I know, but not big enough yet. You can just practice now with all your babies.
G: I just wanna be a mommy.
I thought I was going to cry. She really loves babies, and she takes really good care of them. She puts them down for naps, even though she can't stand them being asleep and wakes them up. She feeds them and shares her blankies with them. One day when she is a mommy and complains to me I will pull out this post and prove to her that in all her whole life, exactly 3 years, all she wanted was to be a mommy. She is so funny.

That is so cute! I do miss those little conversations you have with toddlers. Aren't you glad you have this blog to write it in to pull out at a later date.
That is sooooo cute! You're a great mom!
