I hate calling June my Mother-in-law. MIL's get such a bad rap. I heard someone once call the end piece of a loaf of bread the MIL. Funny thing is I love the ends of the bread!
I have always loved her. But since my Mom died I have learned to appreciate her too. She has always been a woman of few words. She rarely criticizes. She is the most patient woman I have ever met. She offers good advice because she absolutely understands how I feel. Best of all, she always cries first! I feel as though she, more than anyone has bridged the gap my Mother left.
My children have the greatest Grandma in the world. They know they are loved and there is no confusion who they are talking about when they pray for her.
Mostly I am grateful for the Son she raised. She gave him her sense of humor and her tenderness. He respects her and loves her. She is a wonderful example to all of us of how to live an obedient life.

I adore this post because I love June too. And I love my MIL! I was thinking about this today. Is there another word or phrase we can call the in-laws we love?
