When I think of Thanksgiving I don't necessarily think of Turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, Yams, and rolls. Although, as I was typing them I remember just how yummy they all are. I digress. I consider Thanksgiving day a preparatory meal for shopping the next day. There are just a few things that I really look forward to all year. 5am at Smith's Marketplace (formerly the Fred Meyer Sock sale) pop isle. That is what I look forward to all year. Then it is a trip to Old Navy and usually Kohls. Then we pick up the rest wherever we can. We get to do girls lunch with my Mom's sisters. Sooo fun!! Then it usually to Target and the mall. It has been that way since I married Aaron. The lunch with my aunts has been since my much anticipated 12th birthday.
So, this year is bugging me a little. I feel like the stores are sneaking all the deals out there before "black Friday". They are messing everything up. They are offering better than black Friday deals. What if I miss something? I love watching the parade Thanksgiving morning and getting the first look at the most anticipated ads of the year. Even that is messed up. You can find them on "TGIBlack Friday", "Black Friday ads", "The black Friday" and "Black Friday FM". Is this bugging anyone else? Maybe I should be glad. Chances are that big lady that is always behind me pushing against me in line at Smiths will get her stuff early and won't come. But maybe I want her there. I love to push back and make her think she won't get a cart. I guess we'll see, maybe it won't make a difference. But, I refuse to give into their temptation.
I'm never really out for anything specific, but when you snatch the last DVD player out of the hand of the lady with no teeth, it feels really good, even if I have 3 at home. Why is it that a line at any store bugs me but on black Friday I welcome a long line. It's my day to hurry up and wait! Happy Shopping everyone. I hope you get something you don't need at a crazy black Friday price!!

Oh Jill too funny!! I am thinking I am retiring from Black Friday shopping! But I will never ever forget you getting in the fight in the line at Smiths and the best part is you were pregnant and the person was related to you!!!! Good Times! I will miss this year but I missed last year too! Too hard with no babysitter and I have to work so dang early!!
It was your relative not mine!
We are all related Jill!!!!
YOUR NUTS!!! That's all I have to say about it.
I only did black Friday once...swore I would never go again. Maybe if my sisters or someone made it a fun outing with lunch I would like it too.
Happy Shopping! ;)
Last year we hit Kohl's at 4 AM! Jeanette had never been, so she was in heaven. You know I'm not a shopper, but I have learned to love Black Friday. I'm going this year with my besties. It should be interesting.
And just so you know, those black friday sites have been around for a while, so I'm sure you'll have the same wonderful experience as always ! Although, I'll miss doing lunch with the ladies.
I don't like black Friday, crowds, lines and fighting people for crap. Makes me even start to hate Christmas! I'm such scrooge when it comes to shopping. Maybe it's because I don't have anyone to do it with me like family or besties. I hope you have tons of fun though since you look forward to it all year!
I like to go and assist. Like last year I met up with a friend who had been out since Thursday at midnight. I held her up during the morning. In her blur she bought about three gaming systems. It was great.
Jill, it sounds to me like you need to invite Larissa and Clisty along. Clisty can kick butt, and Larissa can take names! Seriously, take Larissa, then she'll understand the beauty that is BF.
So YOU are that lady? Who would've guessed!
I am so excited to find someone who loves black friday as much as I do!! Although, I am on the other side of it. I am the lady ringing you up and laughing at the people who are surprised and mad that there are long lines! Happy Black friday shopping!
oh, and a little tip from some crazy shoppers a couple of years ago...take 'em out at the knees! :)
Can't wait!
BTW, I still take the paper!
