We had such a great time in Utah for Thanksgiving, right up until it was time to come home. (I think it was a sign Aaron). We did all the usual annual events:
- Breakfast at MiMi's with my oldest friend Jen. It was fun to catch up.
- Movie and dinner on Wednesday night with ALL my family. This is the real thanksgiving. The turkey is good, but being together is the best. Mr Magoriums was a really cute movie.
- Searching the ads Thursday morning (yeehaw)
- Having Thanksgiving dinner until you are so stuffed you can't breath. We got to eat with Aaron's family this year, and we were ALL there, the whole fam damily. We even invited Wayne to eat with us.
- After dinner, we synchronized our watches, and made our plan for shopping.
- 3:30am came early, but the socks were worth it, a whole year worth. We made a few more stops. Old Navy was interesting. It is always fun to spy!!!
- Friday afternoon all the Noorda girls meet up with my aunts and cousins for lunch and more shopping. Good times. Have you ever tried the butternut squash ravioli at MiMi's? Yum-O!!
Those are the things we do every year. Traditions are the best. We got to do a couple things that weren't tradition this year:
- Open Jason's mission call. We are so glad that he waited for all of us to get there on Thursday morning. It was tense, but he finally read the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania mission, He leaves February 20. Congrats J!
- More shopping on Saturday. We drove all around the Salt Lake valley and made a pretty good dent in our shopping. Aaron and I spent the day together shopping, we almost killed each other.
- Meg took the kids ice skating. They had a blast.
It was so fun to be there, I know how much work it is to have so many people stay at your house so I am sure my mom is pooped, but we really appreciate all the hard work. Thanks Mom and Dad!
The freakin part of Happy Thanksgiving started when Saturday night Gracie got really stuffy, and sneezing. So, naturally I ran to the store to get some cold medicine. Only to find out that the retarded FDA has pulled all the infant cold medicine from the shelves because stupid parents give their babies too much and they hurt them. UGGGGGG! So, naturally she was up all night with a fever. ALL NIGHT!!!!!!! 5:00am I couldn't take it anymore so I went out to watch TV and of course my Mom was up already. We decided that we would take her to instacare when they opened at 8:00. We trekked off to instacare, no insurance card, (I finally get good insurance, and forget to put my card back in my wallet when I need it duh!). If you can believe it there was only one other car in the parking lot!!! We only had to wait a few minuets for the Doctor to tell us that he hasn't seen healthier ears. UGGGGG!!! She had a really sore throat and little swollen tonsils. I was thinking how long the drive home was going to be. Little did I know it was longer than I would have even thought.
We were about 10 miles out of Beaver, I was finally sleeping and so was Gracie, when Aaron yelled JILLEE! The check engine light of YOUR truck just went on and now it won't go. I was still in sleep mode so I wasn't sure what he just said, MY truck that I have had for 18 months is not working? Pull over! He pulled over, and shut it off. But it didn't help. What do we do? My Dad was at church and we were at some exit that didn't go anywhere. Aaron got out and me and the kids said a quick prayer. Then we saw something cool, a FOX. It crossed the road in front of us. Good thing Aaron didn't see it, he would have shot it. He would have gotten all the crap he bought at Cabella's out and used it to murder a cute little fox my children were enjoying. Anyway, we called our life line (really, if we ever needed help on any of those game shows we would call him) Bret. We decided it is still under warranty and so we would just drive it to Cedar and see what we could find. It seemed to get a little better, then worse. We stopped at Auto Zone or something, and got something and Aaron put it on. Sorry, I don't even know. It worked a little better, and we drove pretty slow home. All while Gracie was either screaming or kinda sleeping, the older kids fighting or being hyper and crazy, Aaron yelling at them or teasing them. And I just sat back and thought Happy Freakin Thanksgiving!!!

Oh, so sad.
Ha ha ha.
So true.
Happy Freakin Thanksgiving. I love every minute of it. But you forgot the yummy home made pizza! That was fun!
It sounds like it all started out fun and ended up pretty miserable! I hope you get a nice long nap today (and Gracie too). Good Luck figuring out how to fix your truck!
Your Thanksgiving was jam packed with fun!! Glad you survived shopping together...I hate when you go thru all that bother for a doctor to tell you the kid isn't that sick---UGGGHH!!
I'll have to try that ravioli next time I go to Mimi's :)
Sounds like a fun Thanksgiving! Family is always what makes it great. Sorry we didn't get to catch up with you in Vegas. I guess we can just keep being internet friends though.
I hate traveling with little sick ones. I wish we would have run into you while shopping. We were out early morning also, but we were in Utah County. I hope Gracie feels better.
It's a sign... You weren't supposed to leave yet!
That really stinks! At least it wasn't all bad!
That was pretty funny Jill. Your drive home sounded pretty much like our as well! Love that holiday travelling!
